CRRC 5MW Air-to-Water Cooled Double Fed Induction Generator

CRRC 5MW air-to-water cooled doubly fed Induction generator is the domestically highest-power doubly fed Induction generator at present, delivering a rated output power of 5300 kW, a rated stator voltage of 6300 V, and a rated rotating speed of 1200 rpm, paired with a 6-pole structure and an H-class insulation system. It has a center height of 710 mm and a total unit weight of 17600 kg.
This generator adopts symmetrical radial ventilation air-to-water cooling structure, box-type frame and three-bearing supporting design, with IP54 protection grade for main body and IP23 for slip ring chamber, F-class winding temperature rise and 2049 V rotor open-circuit voltage, and achieves a rated efficiency of ≥97%. Its stator and rotor windings undergo vacuum pressure impregnation and rotary baking with H-class insulation, while the rotor is fitted with special corona-resistant insulation to boost resistance against converter harmonic surges. The symmetrical cooling loops balance temperature rise of bearings at both ends; the horizontally arranged heat exchanger of the air-water cooler reduces overall unit height and footprint, and the fanless hot air cooling design eliminates unplanned downtime caused by cooling fan faults. Equipped with Y/Y winding connection, it seamlessly integrates with mainstream wind power converter technologies, featuring superior mechanical and electrical strength and stable performance under variable wind farm conditions.

Technical Requirements

When the voltage phase sequence of the three-phase power supply is the same as the order of the terminal letters U, V, W on the motor terminals, the motor shall rotate counterclockwise when viewed from the shaft extension end; the bearing grease shall be BEM41-141, the lubrication cycle of the front and rear bearings is 0.5g or a similar amount of lubricating oil to be added every 8 hours, and the specific operation shall refer to the centralized lubricator operation manual.
