CRRC 4.XMW Air-to-Air Cooled Double Fed Induction Generator
CRRC 4.XMW air-to-air cooled doubly fed Induction generator is a high-power, high-efficiency power generation solution matched for the 4.X MW platform doubly fed wind turbine unit, delivering a rated output power range of 3600 – 4200 kW, a rated stator voltage of 690 V, and a rated rotating speed of 1200 rpm, paired with a 6-pole structure and an H-class insulation system, with a center height of 630 mm. It adopts air-to-air cooling mode with IP54 protection grade for stator and IP23 for slip ring chamber, featuring a rotor open-circuit voltage of 1850V±1.5% and a rated efficiency of ≥97%.This generator connects the drive-end rotating shaft to medium-speed gearboxes via couplings to receive mechanical power. Its stator is directly linked to the grid, while the rotor connects to the grid through four-quadrant converters. It operates stably within a speed range of ±38% of synchronous speed and realizes flexible grid power factor adjustment. Equipped with patented self-ventilation structure, the unit features low internal wind resistance and large air volume to resolve temperature rise challenges caused by high power loss under air-to-air cooling, granting abundant temperature rise margin and extended service life. Form-wound coils and polyimide corona-resistant mica insulation on rotors withstand converter impulse voltages; insulated end shields and ground brush design mitigate bearing damage from shaft voltage and current, while split slip ring chambers with independent ventilation fans isolate carbon powder pollution and discharge dust efficiently. It maintains low noise and reliable performance amid variable wind farm conditions.As a mature doubly fed design with standard winding layout, it seamlessly integrates with mainstream four-quadrant wind power converter technologies. Featuring patented technology suitable for self-ventilated structures, the motor boasts low internal air resistance and high airflow, resolving the temperature rise issue caused by the contradiction between high losses and insufficient cooling in high-power motors. This results in a large temperature rise margin and long lifespan.
The stator and rotor coils utilize molded windings; the rotor employs a polyimide film corona-resistant mica insulation structure, capable of withstanding certain pulse voltages from the frequency converter; H-class insulation structure with vacuum pressure impregnation ensures high reliability.
The use of insulated end caps and a grounding brush design significantly reduces damage to the bearings from shaft voltage and current; the split slip ring chamber structure isolates the motor from carbon dust contamination, improving reliability.
The slip ring chamber uses an independent fan for ventilation and cooling, and its special structure facilitates carbon dust removal, enhancing motor operational reliability.

Technical Requirements
When the voltage phase sequence of the three-phase power supply is the same as the order of the terminal letters U, V, W on the motor terminals, the motor shall rotate counterclockwise when viewed from the shaft extension end; the bearing grease shall be BEM41-141, the lubrication cycle of the front and rear bearings is 0.5g or a similar amount of lubricating oil to be added every 8 hours, and the specific operation shall refer to the centralized lubricator operation manual.
